Brewer Series: Crosstown

Image
The Brewer Series at Crosstown Brewing on November 15 was quite the special occasion. The Memphis Beer Drinkers not only got to revisit two versions of BORIS from 2020, Crosstown's Barrel Aged Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout, we also were treated to a sneak preview of a yet-to-be-released beer (at the time), Evergreen IPA . (See the first photo below.) Huge thanks to Shane (Lead Brewer), Kevin (Sales Manager), and Lanier (Brewhouse Manager) for hosting us. An extra shout-out goes to Lanier for letting his German Shepherd, Jeffery, join the fun. We also had members of up-and-coming Void Brewing join us for the event. Congrats again to them for winning the People's Choice award at the 2025 Cooper Young Beerfest! Our next meeting will be at MFS Brewing on December 20 for a Christmas party beer share. See you then! Brewer Series: Memphis Made

The Brewer Series at Memphis Made on September 27 was another good time. Big thanks to Andy Ashby for welcoming us and talking about his long history with not just Memphis Made Brewing, but the entire Memphis craft beer scene. As usual, great beers from around the country were enjoyed. Check out the video and photo gallery below. Due to the always busy month of October beer festivals, there will not be Memphis Beer Drinkers event next month, because we'll be attending the festivals ourselves. Be sure to join us on November 15 at Crosstown Brewing for the next Brewer Series event! Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on what's happening with Memphis Beer Drinkers

Brewer Series: Soul & Spirits

Image
The Brewers Series at Soul & Spirits on August 16 was our biggest turnout yet. We even had someone from Jackson, TN, Denver, CO, and Leitchfield, KY in attendance! It's always encouraging to continue seeing new faces at our events. A big thanks goes to Ryan Allen for giving our group a tour of the massive brewing space and his journey to becoming a brewmaster. It's always fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making each brewery's beer. As always, several vintage and notable beers were shared, including Russian River Beatification, Avery One Ping Only (2022), 3 Floyds Scepter of Power, Firestone Walker Stickee Monkee (2017), and American Solera ISO: Tacos just to name a few.  Watch the complete Brewer Series presentation and check out more photos below. Brewer Series: Wiseacre

The Brewer Series at Wiseacre Downtown on July 26 was an absolute hit! We were thrilled to see so many familiar and new faces come together for a Saturday full of great beer and even better company. One of the highlights of our beer share was a vertical of Astronaut Status, courtesy of Robert Mickelberry, which included 2015 through 2024!  A huge thanks goes to the Bartosch brothers for giving our group a personal tour. We all walked away with some fascinating insights into the state-of-the-art facility, plus the history of Wiseacre Brewing and how it all got started. Fun fact: We saw stacks of pallets containing thousands of Bearded Iris Homestyle cans in the brewing area. At the time, we assumed Wiseacre was just doing some helpful contract brewing for Bearded Iris. Literally four days after our visit, the news broke that Wiseacre had acquired Bearded Iris Brewing Company ! Every black can in this photo, taken by ANDe during our tour, is Bearded Iris Homestyle During the e...
